When it was introduced in the 1920s, the Duoplan caliber developed by Henri Rodanet (1884-1956), the technical director of the Etablissements Edmond Jaeger, was one of the smallest movements with serious accuracy. This was made possible by the two-level construction (hence the name of the model), which offered space for a sufficiently large balance wheel on a minimal footprint. The winding crown was set into the back of the case. Built in many different versions, the Jaeger Duoplan ladies' watch became an extremely successful classic.
